Chandur Bazar is a town to which around 50 small villages are attached in respect of agricultural needs and commerce. These small villages still are not having higher educational institutes. To provide them an equal opportunity of higher education, People’s Welfare Society Amravati came forward and established the college in 1991 named after Late Narayanrao Amrutrao Deshmukh who was a social worker with foresight of higher education. The college is affiliated to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati. The courses, the college is offering, are B.A., M.A.(Geography), and B.C.A.
The college got accredited with “B” grade by NAAC in 2004. It is also covered under Section 2F & 12B of UGC Act. The College has always made endeavor to impart career-oriented education with high moral qualities. The teachers have made efforts to acquire research degrees so that students should get benefited.
Taking the need of girl students into consideration, the college has started Women’s Hostel funded by the UGC. Around Sixty girl students shall be accommodated in the hostel. Evey year, more than 500 students get education in the college. At present, 587 students are registered for B.A., M.A. (Geography), and B.C.A.
